The role

What this job is

RODMENA is looking for a Government Relations Manager to lead engagement across the United Kingdom. The role shapes and executes government affairs and public policy strategy in support of business growth, strategic partnerships and long-term market access across the public sector and regulated industries.

It sits at the intersection of policy, artificial intelligence capability and deep technology. It needs someone who can translate political, regulatory and institutional developments into practical business insight, and who can build trusted relationships with government stakeholders, corporate customers, trade bodies and strategic partners.

RODMENA builds distributed intelligence systems and the platforms underneath them. Our procurement posture is published rather than described: the Trust Centre, the platform topology and the company policies on this site are the same documents a buyer is given. You would own how that record is presented to government and institutional audiences, and how their requirements come back into what we build.

Responsibilities

What you would own

  • Own the United Kingdom government affairs plan: priorities, stakeholders, milestones and the argument the company makes.
  • Build and hold relationships with government departments, agencies, trade bodies, industry associations and strategic partners.
  • Track legislative, regulatory and procurement developments across public-sector technology, artificial intelligence and data protection, and turn them into written guidance the leadership team can act on.
  • Position RODMENA for public-sector frameworks and procurement routes, and advise on the conditions of participation each one sets.
  • Support bids and partnerships with the policy context, institutional relationships and written material they need.
  • Represent the company at industry, policy and standards forums, and bring what is heard there back into product and assurance decisions.
  • Work with engineering and assurance so that what is promised externally matches what the estate can evidence — every claim on this site links to the record behind it, and that discipline extends to what is said in a meeting.

Requirements

What we need from you

  • Substantial experience in government affairs, public policy or institutional relations, gained in industry, government, a trade body or a consultancy.
  • A working understanding of United Kingdom public-sector procurement and the conditions of participation that govern it.
  • The judgement to read political and regulatory change accurately and write down what it means for a business, without overstating what is known.
  • Demonstrated ability to build durable relationships with senior government and institutional stakeholders.
  • Excellent written English: this role produces briefings that other people make decisions from.
  • The right to work in the United Kingdom.

Useful, not required

  • Experience of selling or delivering technology into the public sector or another regulated industry.
  • Enough technical literacy to hold a credible conversation about artificial intelligence, distributed systems and software supply-chain assurance.
  • Experience with security clearance, or eligibility to obtain it.
  • Familiarity with standards and assurance schemes such as Cyber Essentials, ISO/IEC 27001 or software bill-of-materials practice.

In return

What we offer

  • A direct line to the people who build the systems: RODMENA is small, and this role reports to the Director.
  • A company whose assurance record is already written down and published, so you are representing evidence rather than assembling it from scratch.
  • Hybrid working from London, with the travel the role genuinely needs and no more.
  • Salary discussed openly at first interview and set against the seniority you bring; we do not advertise a range we would not honour.
